Airborne Pollution
Control Inc. is a Calgary, Canada
based Private Corporation that has
developed and has exclusive rights
to patents throughout the world for
an advanced pollution control process
(the Airborne Process) for utilities
that generate electrical power from
coal-fired power plants. With over
50% of North America's and over 33%
of the world's electrical power generated
from coal, the Airborne Process addresses
a global concern by removing acid
rain causing sulphur dioxide (SO2)
and sulphur trioxide (SO3), smog producing
nitrogen oxide (NOx) and mercury from
plant emissions. The scrubbing agent
used to remove the pollutants is sodium
bicarbonate. Unlike other scrubbing
procedures, the sodium bicarbonate
is regenerated in the process reducing
operating costs, increasing efficiencies,
reducing waste and most notably, the
Airborne Process turns the sulphur
and nitrogen pollutants into a high-quality
granular fertilizer. The Airborne
Process allows the benefits of coal
to be maximized in an economical and
environmentally responsible manner.
The Babcock &
Wilcox Company is a subsidiary
of McDermott International, Inc.,
(NYSE: MDR), a leading worldwide energy

manufacture steam-generating equipment,
environmental equipment, and products
for the U.S. government. They also
provide engineering and construction
services for industrial, utility and
hydrocarbon processing facilities,
and to the offshore oil and natural
gas industries.
